An Energy Performance Certificate rates the energy efficiency of a property on a scale from A (most efficient) to G (least efficient). You need one by law if you're selling or renting out a property.
For sales, a solicitor cannot legally complete the transaction without a valid EPC on the official register. For rentals, all private rental properties must achieve at least an E rating.
